Give Me The Details
Classes will run 8 weeks, contain 15 students, and will meet for two hours once every week virtually plus two private 30 minute coaching sessions with Christine O’Leary!
Who should take this class? Anyone interested in taking the first step into the world of Stand Up Comedy, with the guidance and support of Christine and her Team Greenlight Comedy. Also, any comics who are interested in developing new material in positive and inclusive environment, while focusing on some of the fundamentals of comedy. Lastly, anyone looking to try something new, check off a bucket list, gain confidence public speaking, sort through difficult times and truths using the sharp eye and wit of Stand Up Comedy.
What do Students Get? A completely original, unhackable, 5 minutes (or more) set of stand up comedy! A set they can take with them to any comedy club, open mic night, cruise ship, doctor’s waiting room…basically anywhere with a semi captive audience.
Why take the class? Get the confidence to try something new, become more honest with your performing and in your daily life. Gain accountability in your writing process. Having a class every week, where you’ll be receiving feedback and notes from what you read, keeps you accountable and keeps you writing. When you join Christine and Team Greenlight you are joining a tribe of comics. You have a support system, peers, people to offer support and advice in field that seems so solitary at times.
There can be a performance afterwards for local students, a class with more of a global reach will tape their 5 minute set and receive critique and praise from the Christine and the class. We are also in the development about having a destination showcase somewhere fabulous with workshop/dress rehearsal day of and cast party afterwards.
